I have heard of this happening in the past, so it wouldn't surprise me if it can still occur (i.e. PayPal payments not showing up for a while, sometimes up to a couple of days after payment was made - though it was a bit over a year ago when I last knew of it happening).
If you hover your mouse over the blue $ symbol next to the transaction, the mouse-over text will show you the email address that they buyer's payment was sent to, so you can do that to double-check that there wasn't an incorrect address in the listing.
If the address is correct, does the transaction dropdown menu give you the option 'view PayPal transaction'? Clicking that might help, though sometimes the link is broken, so then again it might not....
Another option would be to message the buyer and alert them of the situation, then ask if they could pass on the transaction ID for the payment so that you can follow it up with PayPal.

Thanks Digi.. Yes the address is correct and yes the view PP transaction takes me to PP but there is no record of it in my PP..I have used the same PP address for years now without problems.. I had to stop and think , "is it Friday"
? lol

Do you have the buyer's email address on the transaction record with eBay? You could try searching PayPal transactions by email address and see if that prompts the transaction to show, otherwise I can only suggest giving PP a call (I have had some lag between payments and notifications myself recently, but when I check my account the transaction is actually showing, so haven't had to chase anything up as yet).

If you still have access to the old email address then re add it to your Paypal account and the payment will appear.
If it has been linked to Paypal in the past but you no longer have access give Paypal a call as they can sometimes sort it so the payment is directed to your account. They cannot do this if it is a typo or an address that has never been linked to Paypal.

I have 1/2 dozen email addresses attached to my Paypal address, including one that was discontinued last March when I changed my server.
But to sign into my account I have to use that discontinued email address. I tried to change that, but Paypal told me I had to sign in with that one & not any of the others, evidently that's there policy. I suppose it's a good idea, another security protection.
Interesting that I still get an odd email addressed to that account (not Paypal emails) & they get forwarded on to one of my other accounts by bigpond - shhhh don't tell them.
