I list on ebay.com and also ebay australia and just noticed that Turbo Lister is giving a warning message with some of my photos on ebay australia listings....
Pictures must be 1600 pixels on the longest side.
However, the new requirements on ebay.com seem to be very different ...
Photos must be at least 500 pixels on the longest side.
Just wondering why the photo requirements would be so different for the two different site.

The minimum requirement is 500 pixels on the AU site as well, with a recommended size of 1600 pixels (on the longest side), and most images will get a little orange flag on them saying something to the effect of not being to the optimum size if they are under that, but they should still upload and display without a problem - if they're not, it may be a TL issue (I think there have been a few of those lately), but I can only suggest contacting eBay if the images are being prevented from uploading.

Thanks for the responses. I am thinking that may mean that the requirements may change again sometime in the not too distant future. If they are giving everyone a red flag warning for pictures that are under 1600 pixels on the longest side that sounds like a hint that that will be the requirement in future.
Lots of sellers are resizing all of their photos with many thinking that the 500 minimum will be OK.

I have been selling here for a few years and I have never NOT got a size flag.
My pics are about 1200 x 800. They upload fine and are easy to look at.
My scanner defaults to about 1350 x 900 for a standard paperback, so I would have to blow them up (with the consequent loss of resolution) to comply with the suggested size. I instead reduce them by 10% to aid in upload time, which doesn't seem to affect clarity.

I have been selling for many years and just about always get the flag, haven't worked out yet what I can do to have pictures good enough not to get the flag.

I usually upload photos that are 1000 x 1000 pixels, as the space allotted in the gallery is square, and don't get the flag on those, so my guess is "optimum" = square. If you upload a rectangular image, you haven't "filled all the available space" as it were. Some items will never suit a square image, though.

Hi,
I have read somewhere that eBay are changing the photo requirements.
Can someone please advise me or point me in the right direction.
Many thanks in anticipation.
