Hi All,
I have an air band transceiver that I would like to sell, but I have my reservations due to the nature of the device. Peoples lives on board commercial aircraft can be jeapordised with the use of such an item in question, and I would have difficulty sleeping if I knew that the I had something to do with some terrorist activity, by selling someone a radio who used it illegally.
Searching through the ACMA website is difficult enough when you know what you are looking for, but if you don't, then you will probably never find it.
Does anyone know if there are any legal ramifications?
Any hints or tips?
In the mean time, I WILL NOT be listing the item.

How I understand it, you don't need to be licenced to purchase one, however you need to have a licence to operate one. A unit that transmits not just a receiver.
As well it's up to the owner to use within the laws -
You cannot use the aviation bandwith for applications unrelated to A2G / A2A communication.
I don't think ebay have any restrictions on the sale of these types of radios. But have a look -
