Possible e-mail scam?

So I received an e-mail that was sent to me yesterday, stating that my eBay account has been suspended due to my credit/debit card company being unable to verify my registration info on file.

I'm assuming it's a fake e-mail because the e-mail address is ukrswebhelp@ebay.com.au and the fact that I'm still currently being allowed to log into my account and use it, a day after the e-mail was actually sent to me (had no idea about it until just now when I checked).

Anyways, here's the e-mail (are my suspcions about it not having been sent from eBay correct?)

eBay Account ID: E87082486-AUD

I also suspect it is a fake.....just make sure you DO NOT access your account through the link.  That is a recipe for disaster.

Definitely a scam / phishing email, apparently one that's been around for while. (When eBay deregister an account, temporarily or permanently, "Not a registered user" shows on their feeback profile).

I would also recommend self-reporting the OP since it has personal info in it - you don't want to be getting any more scams, or even spam. 😉

if it was genuine there would be a copy of it in your ebay messages, my thoughts are scam. definately do not click on any links in the email message. check your ebay messages, top left side of your home page.

If nothing else that is a complete give away unless your parents christened you xxxxxxxxxx@hotmail.com

If they did then I would sue them LOL.

Does ebay customer service even email you to your personal ebay account?

I do not think they do, I am sure it just goes in your messages.

All my correspondence from eBay goes into my email. I rarely check my messages unless I need to reply to a message from a buyer.
