Power Seller Leaving Ebay

When Ebay introduced "Money Back Guarantee" on the 1st of November, it caused me to be concerned.

As a retailer, I am aware of the tricks a buyer will get up to to return an item or claim they didn't get the item. Unfortunately I have had my 1st experience within 3 weeks of the introduction of the policy. Till then I have never had a claim against me.

I now buy postal insurance in case a buyer says they didn't get the item.Yet Ebay hassle sellers to reduce our postage charges.

I felt the introduction of charging fees for postage was unfair however I accepted to absorb this extra fee.

However the "Money Back Guarantee" is the last straw. Once the items I have listed have ended early December I will be closing shop.

My daughter, who was an Above Standard seller, has already closed shop.

Ebay 'bestowed' Power Seller and Top Rated Seller status upon me some months ago but when I read about the new policies coming in on 1st November I packed up my store and took down all my listings.

I have been buying & selling on Ebay for 12 years and in that time have seen many changes but this last bit of nonsense is too rich for me. So far I have been hanging around not selling anything and the rest has done a lot to ease my jaded nerves. But in the New Year I plan to look into all the different selling venues, except for Gumtree.

And then there are the non payers!  Ebay insist that we leave positive feedback & sends us reminders to give the feedback.

I was a fairly new seller on Ebay & have since read  all the negative changes for sellers which just doesn't make sense. A business to prosper needs to look after both it's buyers & sellers fairly.

Yes leave eBay good luck with that and when you find that you're not getting any hits n your adds remember All roads lead back to eBay

So you're making a good living off your 36 sales from 122 listings during the past 3 months, are you? My figures for that period are much the same and if I was relying on eBay for anything other than beer money, I'd be living on the streets. Ebay is finished. The prices here are too high, eBay's reputation is shot to hell, and most people now go elsewhere to do their buying. And that includes me.
