Do ebay think we are mugs when they allow 270 listings per month for some sellers and only 40 are free?
Do they have anyone in authority to digest the first question and make an executive decision to raise the free listing quota?
Do they honestly think that people are going to pay for the balance of the listings they are allowed when ebay, paypal and aus post combined make more out of an item than the seller?
You send out surveys amongst your members asking all sorts of questions which fall on selective hearing, I'll save you the time and cut to the chase.
RAISE THE FREE LISTING QUOTA.
No brainer.

YES .... RAISE THE FREE LISTING QUOTA.
Surely eBay realise, that the more WE sell the more Final Value Fees THEY get ....free insertion promotions are a great incentive ๐
If we inrease our prices, we're just handing the fees on to the buyer, and that's a no win situation .. so more for eBay again !!

Something is better than nothing, especially where ebay is concerned. Why do people think that ebay encouraged 99c auction starts? Do they care what price you get for it as long as it gets a price they can did their claws into?
If sellers stop at the limit of 40 free listings and go no further ebay lose out big time, because they value even the 99c sale, sellers don't.
I argued the point quite a while ago when you had to pay for extra photos for listings that it doesn't cost ebay anything for these to be inserted.
Lets's analyse this for a minute, ebay wants me to pay for the privilege in the hope I get a better price so they can make more on the sale price. So now we have free photos, boy it must cost them a packet!
At the moment they charge $2 for a subtitle, if listings don't sell and get reinserted surprise surprise they offer you free subtitle and make noise about saving you $2, as if the item didn't sell the first time due to the lack of one.
Raise the free llisting, increase the chances of things being sold, and increase your bottom line, no brainer.

Obviously you didn't read DG's reply...........

Yeh OK, ask them to start charging for photos and sqaure that up by lowering the FVF.

I don't think there is a connection between free stuff and price increases.
IMO eBay decides on a price increase and then puts together a spin package that may include free listings
Not the other way around, doesn't make sense to me.
What does annoy me though is that stores don't get even a very small proportion of auction listings in their package, or even access to auction listings at a reduced price, yet they give them away like they are going out of fashion to nonstore IDs (including my own) bananas in my books and bad for my business, I can not fairly compete against a whole chunk of my competition using my IDs that have stores in particulars markets without gambling $1.50 for each auction, and I have paid monthly subscriptions for years
where are my loyality rewards ??

Honestly, I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B.
I actually imagine eBay to be a bit like Xerxes, TBH - Tryna get all up in your territory, and is all like
I'd like to see auctions included in the free quota for stores as well, even though I rarely use them (and a lot of my stiff comes under 'collectible' categories, doesn't seem right that most stores have to pay so much more for a format than non-stores, no matter what).

Yes 4green2000, I agree !!
I am been feeling the pressure from eBay to open a store and give free postage for some time now.
I sell at low prices to cover my costs, and am happy when I have several bidders on some items. And importantly, buyers are happy with the prices too.
I tried free postage recently ... added about a dollar to my items .. I didn't get any extra bidders, and it just cost me and the buyers .. so once again, It's eBay who benefit.
Once upon a time, I used to think I would get results by ringing and talking to a consultant ... what a waste of time .... I get far more satisfaction by reading this page, and hearing the real life experiences of others with eBay (or GREEDBAY) ๐

How?
Surely you were already charging for postage? And eBay take FVF on postage whether it's included in the price ('free') or separate.
