Hi all, I got my first non-paying bidder this week. Have waited for 6 days no response from the person whatsoever, then I relisted the item.
Browsed to the forums and other members suggested to go through dispute resolution first before relisting. So I took down my relist item and now waiting for the other party's reply.
Is it possible to relist the item after dispute ended (assuming the other person didn't end up paying)? Would it affect my rating and is there any other fee from ebay?

Hi there,
If the other person doesn't pay and you close the dispute 4 days after its opened then you will recieve your FVF (Final Value Fee) back and can relist. Its not that you cant relist before then, but if they paid while it was relisted and someone else bought/won the item, you'd be in a bit of a pickle 😉 I think the only fee you still end up with is the original listing fee.
The only exception to this is if someone purchases something with a no longer registered account, eBay will close the case once its opened automatically I believe as happened with me when a Nigerian scammer tried purchasing something, in which case you do again get the FVF back.

As you are presumably using the free listings you will not lose out on any listing fees anyway. The original buyer can still pay any time up until the dispute is closed on the 4th day which is why it is not a good idea to relist before the dispute ends.
There is no reason why you should not be able to list it again after the dispute closes if you don't receive payment..

Let me play Devils Advocate here. What if the buyer has a genuine reason say In hospital following an accident, they really liked whatever it was you were selling and had every intention of paying, or like some sellers who put in their listing that they are on holidays and wont be back until a certain date. I know, I as buyer would be really annoyed.

thanks for your help. Buyer ended up paying after a case was opened, all good now.
