Sales have hit a Wall

I have been a regular seller on e-bay since 2000 (yep 13 years) and I have never seen sales so critically low. The lack of sales combined with the increase in e-bay fees / paypal fees etc looks like after all these years time to finish up with with ebay and back to selling at the local weekend markets.

Sales have hit a Wall

I share the same sentiments as all of you, sales have def dropped dramtically, for me its well over half on what I was doing the same time last year.

I think it might be time to move away from ebay, and open a separate online shop, very affordable and easy these days cheaper than ebay and no selling fees.

I think all the big name brands "official shops" are having an impact, no room for the little guy anymore...

Sales have hit a Wall

My sales picked up over the weekend and seem to be returning to (almost) normal.

Here's hoping ?:|

Mine are up. And my fees are down.

Allegedly I don't sell anything, so take my factual statement as you wish.

yes agree with you , the hits you get now on ebay are far less than we used to get , there was thousands , and  yes they have made it harder to find the little peoples items , making way for bigger better full on retail giants to take over ebay

and anyone notice customer support is out the door , they dont bother to answer anymore , they used to be so efficient

what a shame , ebay used to be such a fun place

i  mena now adays you cant even afford to start bids at 99 cents as it dosent encourage biddders

I agree with all of you about this topic.

I have just had the worst week ever and have no confidence at all in this getting any better,

I had an intresting conversation today with cusomer support about this issue and i swear they are more like programmed drones,They know what they are doing and do not care who they hurt.I honestly felt like i was banging my head against a brick wall.

Good luck to all of you and i really hope it works out for all of you,I have not given up yet,But i am starting to feel very negative about Ebay and there silly systems and heartless nature.

My store under my selling ID has collapsed totally. I am a long time ebay seller but about 2 years ago it started to slide & now it's totally collapsed.

I agree with polocrosse, what has happened to ebay sellers is nothing short of criminal. ebay  got away with it scot free after destroying millions of businesses. Any other entity would be prosecuted for the destruction.

It's always a bit quieter at this time of year and usually picks up again around the end of June I must admit though, I'm really put off browsing myself when I'm having to scroll though pages and pages of non antique junk in the antique categories. Surely no-one buys that stuff ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

My sales have been down this year too (particularly the past few months) and I gotta admit I've become pretty disillusioned with ebay lately.

I can't help but wonder if Australia Post's recent price rise is also partially to blame (in addition to other peoples' theories). I sell mostly sell second-hand clothing and it was much easier being able to sell things for $6.60 but I imagine a lot of people are put off by buying a second-hand item for around $8 postage PLUS the actual item's price.
