My auction for a ladies dress finished on the 22nd Oct and winner paid on the 25th. After she has won the auction she asked for more details of the dress even as to the colours ( the pics were very clear) so I initially thought she wouldn't pay but yes she did. Now I have recieved 3 messages from her saying the item is too big and she has been in hospital with cancer ๐ and wants her money back upon returning the dress.
Her current feedback is not good and she has not paid for a lot of items in the last 2 months.
I am sure I don't have to give her this refund at all ( sizes and measurements were given in listing) so wdyt ? How should I word my response to her ?
TIA Toni

Dear buyer,
Thank you for your message. I'm sorry to say that after this length of time I cannot give you a refund for the dress as my refund policy states (say whatever it states - refund within 7 days or whatever, in original packaging etc.)
However I am sorry that the dress doesn't fit you, and would like you to know that you are welcome to use my listing photographs and wording to easily re-sell the dress yourself, and I hope you make a profit!
Thank you for your valued custom, and every good wish for a speedy and successful recovery.
Kindest regards,
Seller.

Oh dear-looks like the tyre kicker from hell.
What a shame all those sellers didn't do the right thing & open non payer disputes instead of leaving positives with VERY negative comments-eek ๐ฎ
And what a shame you've already left a positive-bet you wish you had left NO feedback.

My bad too as I think this is what I shall do if I can get away with it .......... otherwise the letter to the buyer is perfect and will of course be my second choice.
Thanks everyone for your help ๐

How do you know the negative positive feedback leavers didnt also process NPB disputes??
My turn for a guess/superflous statement ... that suits my argument
"What a great thing that all those negative positive feedback leavers also opened disputes and the OP will not be able to buy from me because I have my blocks in place ........ good on them"
How many now also have the buyers username on their blocked bidders list?
If ebay left generic $ non paying member feedback after an unpaid item strike was processed and disallow NPB strikes to be initiated if any feedback was left then I would agree with your statement foxy... but I canna agree with a guess ๐

Why can't a NPB strike appear on the buyers account, feedback, wherever. It is not allowing 'tit for tat' neg's from a seller, but is a factual statement (as feedback I thought was meant to be). All sellers should have blocks in place yada yada, but some don't. How much easier to see '# of NPB at the top of the buyers feedback page just like you can see number of neg's, removed fb, etc, seems too easy really, or am I missing something?.
You can't please all the people all the time, so now I just please myself

Totally agree with you Greencat! I have thought and said the same thing before. Just makes alot of sense. Would be great if Ebay could put something like this in place.
Alot will argue that you should have blocks in place and open an unpaid item case when warranted and I totally agree with all these being done, but going that little bit further and having something which could appear in everyone's ebay feedback page to highlight NPB strikes would be great!
Unfortunately, I don't think this is going to happen anytime soon. ๐
