all prices on eBay.au show as Australian $.  If the price shows AU$ then this item is listed on the eBay.au site, if it shows as AU$ then it is listed on another eBay site and the currency will be in the country of listing.  In your case it was probably located in China, listed on eBay.com (US eBay) and showing on eBay.au because the item is available for posting to Australian addresses. The devil is in the detail, so to speak.

Chinese sellers have been shown to be beyond the scope of reporting by Aussie buyers i.e. when you report a Chinese seller the report goes to eBay.cn and nothing happens.

The last 5 sellers to leave you feedback are all in China

Some of those have beyond horrific feedback themselves (negs)

Those sorts of sellers are best well avoided because they will almost certainly 'say' items are in/will be sent from OZ when they rarely will be

If those sellers you have bought from are claiming items are being sent from here, and they are'nt, and you are being taxed as an overseas transaction, have you tried reporting them to eBay for location misrepresentation?
