I notice the odd buyer, when I make a sale, has a discrepency in the "ship to" address records (on the PayPal receipt & Ebay invoice I print out for customer) as opposed to the postal address of the buyer on the initial "Your item sold" Ebay email.
Just asking (out of ignorance, unfortunately), is it correct practice to send the item to the "ship to" address on the Paypal Receipt and the eBay invoice/label print out, which happen to agree with each other? (It's only the initial notification Ebay "Your Item Sold" email where it says "postal address" that is information sometimes different to the "ship to" address.
Many thanks in advance
Janet

Hi Janet,
To enjoy seller protection you MUST ship to the adrress provided thru PayPal (assuming they have paid using PayPal of course).
You also should use a form of tracking that can be linked to this same address. And to avoid any late delivery defects you should have a scan event within your stated handling time. So lodgement over the counter is good advice in order to get this.
The buyer can enter a different address at the time of checkout and this may not be their ebay registered address, but is usually the same.
But if they wished the item to be sent to their Aunt Doris as a gift then they would enter her address during PayPal checkout. Of course, if you sent it to their ebay registered address then Aunt Doris will not receive it and you will be open to an Item Not Received (INR) case against you.
If they pay by some other non-PayPal means (eg bank deposit) then the address you receive on the order will be their ebay registered address. In this case, of course, you will not receive any confirmation email from PayPal.
