I have only recently discovered SmartSend and the last three items I sent not only arrived faster than AP and not only was the delivery cheaper and the insurance much cheaper but they collect door to door.

What happens if the seller isn't home at collection time? If, more importantly, the buyer isn't home at delivery time?
Do they get carded so they can pickup from their local SmartSend depot, of which their would doubtless be many to compete with AP?
i won't use couriers - I can't be there in the large pickup window they want, nor am I prepared to inconvenience the buyer if they are not home when delivery is attempted.

If the seller is not home then it's carded or can be left. No worse than AP. As for collecting, you can arrange whatever day and slot you like, and it can be left for unattended pick up too.
SmartSend is not the company that does the dirty work, they instead work with all local people.
It's not for everyone but I have been amazed at the convenience, plus insurance is much less. It's handy for me as I don't need to lug stuff to a post office as I don't have a car.
All done online, with supplied pdf labels plus online tracking all the way. Used them about 4 times now and I'm impressed.

Always keen to explore options to free myself from AP, however I just ran five quotes through their calculator to get idea of price all were in ball park of AP regular post pricing - and in fact much more expensive for items under 500g - so no savings for me and my customers.
