After starting up a little business as an ebay seller, I decided I`d become an ebay shop. After finding that I basically have to start all over again creating new pay pal accounts linked to new bank accounts, new ebay name, new email accounts simply to become a shop is all too hard. Surely Ebay could have designed it so that you keep all your existing names and accounts and just click a checkbox and become a shop. They have to be kidding.
I give up.

Im not sure who told you that but as long as you have a valid AU ebay ID then you should be able to open a store on that account -http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/specialtysites/questions/open-store.html

You haven't really looked into it properly. You can link as many IDs, ebay stores and email addresses as you like to the one paypal account. I'm not sure about the bank account though.
But it is not as hard as you are making out. ๐

As above, you don't need any new accounts to open a store, you basically just need to put a valid credit (or Mastercard/Visa debit) card on file with eBay and go on to use your pre-existing eBay, PayPal and bank accounts.

I certainly opened an ebay shop after completing my required number of sales through ebay.
All I did was follow the instructions to open a store.
To upgrade from a basic to a Featured store when the basic store category was discontinued, I just selected upgrade and apart from having to file a credit card number for account payments (which was cancelled immediately afterwards to revert to Paypal), had no problem with procedure.
What category of store are you trying to start up?

i have this seller a/c for 12 yrs, sometimes I open a Store on it, sometimes I close the store and then open it again some other time. I only have ONE paypal a/c linked to ONE bank account, which I have two different ebay IDs linked to.
only different thing you need is another email address if you open a SECOND ebay ID, but for a store you can just use your current ID, no probs.

You MUST have a Credit Card on file. I had the same issue... read my thread, which has the solution:

Yes - seriously - if I can do it, anyone can, just don't let it frustrate you. e the CC is linked to pay the ebay fee's you will find there are no worries at all.

You only need a Credit Card to get it started. Then you can change your fees payment to Bank Acct or Paypal if you want. They want the card on record, that's all,
