"Dear" Ebay,
Well done Ebay. For once again ripping off sellers on here.
I recall just a short while ago you stating that an increase in fees was to reduce seller costs?? Never figured out hey that worked.
You reduced store fees saying how great that was and just a few weeks later you decide to double them. AGAIN.
Do you ever stop lying to sellers and stating totally false facts about costs and dribbling how you are "helping" sellers?
Your statement releaseed today states "the increase became necessary as the fee changes made earlier this year (most of which were reductions) " SAY WHAT???
Would you mind telling me where there were reductions in anyones fees???? You nearly doubled them up to 7%!!.
Ebay, do you ever tire of lying and treating sellers as though they are morons who cant count??
My fees have gone up a whopping 80% in the last couple of months and now you intend to increase yet again!.
To now sell one item is costing a massive $140 in fees alone. And Ebay calls itself a cheap place to buy items?? I charge far more online then privately now due to the ridiculous fee costs.
Thank you for paying no attention to our complaints Ebay and now delte anything that critisizes you.

Totally agree the new store fees are a complete rip off.
This is gouging by ebay while providing no improved benefit to store owners exept to try to force profit increases for ebay.
I have closed my store too and will be using ebay a lot less.

I'm winding down my store to eventually close.....
Massive increases in fees/costs by ebay, auspost and the ATO in the past 2 years have gone against me unfortunately.
I would need to sell at B&M retail prices to survive but that's not what this place is about......

The ATO? Taxes have gone down. Or thresholds up. Same thing.
Unless you weren't declaring your income, of course.

Supermarkets put up their prices every week yet no one seems to take a stand against them.
All costs are going up (just look at your electricity bill) yet everyone expects eBay to run as a charity.
eBay would have enormous running costs and they can't absorb them.
Shareholders do like to see a return on their investment, otherwise what is the point of holding shares in any company.
If eBay were the only business putting up prices then I would be complaining loudly but I see my bills, I see my receipts from shopping, I see my dividends from shares and I see the interest on term deposits and really are eBay that greedy?
Or, are they just running like any other business in this economic climate?

Bump whatever products you may buy on ebay at present lets say it's..... wool fleece
...... if the price for wool fleece was doubled by all ebay sellers overnight.............would you still buy wool fleece on ebay??
If sellers justified their 100% increase in retail price by informing you that ebay had increased their rent by 100% would you
A....understand that the sellers rent cost had increased by 100% and purchase anyway?
or
B loooooo to find a cheaper place to purchase fleece?
or
C ???

So, in essence what I am asking is
...... How many buyers think that items will be cheaper on ebay because ebay is doubling the rent for many sellers and how many think they will be more expensive??
given that some posters have already stated generally (concerning ebay) that " a business cannot keep absorbing costs and stay competitive"
welll..... ebay is not Robinson Crusoe there
................ the doubling of rents ultimately means that the seller pool becomes smaller and by inference buyers will pay more for products than they are paying now
