Hi Everyone,
I have sold an item to a customer and accidentally marked it as posted on Wednesday along with the other 15 items i sold, but was going to post Monday because i have had new stock from my supplier so i didnt bother telling my customer it was not posted and was going to express post.
What has happened is that she has sent me a message saying that she has received an empty parcel which was not sealed. I offered her a refund and apologised knowing that this was not true. Of course i will give her a refund because i havent sent the order yet, but she is plainly not telling the truth. What would you do about this?
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Regards
Adrian

You've both been dishonest....are you going to give each other the benefit of the doubt? Who will win? I suspect the buyer....

hi ask her to take photos of both sde of the parcel, especially your return address.

Tricky one neither seller nor buyer telling the truth.
Ask for photos of the parcel? As poster mentioned above, including any return address - that could get tricky too, if there is no return address and you ask the buyer to take a photo of the address!.

Why not tell her the truth and say it has not yet been posted to have received an empty package from you.
So therefore you have been mixed up with another seller.
Do not get any deeper into the poo than you are
To mark as posted when it is in fact not going to be posted for another 5 days would see me leaving LOW 1 DSR for postage time.
And as it will be posted express the buyer can see on line the REAL posted date

1. Mark the item as not posted. Anyone can make a mistake.
2. Reply to the email and politely say she must have mistaken you for someone else, because in fact you have not yet posted, but intend to post Monday. Apologise for the delay in posting.
3. There is no need to give a refund, why would you?

The OP has dug themselves a bit of a hole as they have already "offered her a refund and apologised knowing that this was not true."
The OPs buyer may well have been testing if the OP had actually sent the package in the first place, who knows ?

I know, but in my opinion, the OP can still come clean .... Hi there, I now realise that your message was not in fact directed to me, it must be some other seller, as I have not posted your item yet (I marked it posted by mistake). So in fact a refund is not applicable in this case. I will be posting your item express on Monday, I apologise for the delay
And maybe use the watchcount site to see if she has bought an identical item from someone else

Ask for the tracking number on the parcel, than from the Auspost site you can quickly see where the item was posted from as well, to either let them know to look at another item they purchased or that you had actually accidently sent an empty box.
