What do you think of this scenerio?

I had a small item to send, the post office said it could go as a large letter an if I wanted tracking to pay for registered post, which I did. I entertered the tracking number on the item and then receive a email from the buyer, that went like this.

I want to know your response for overcharging me on postage before I report you to ebay.

Hello, I replied saying the item was sent as advised by AP ( I am not a big ebay seller) and I charged you what they charged me.

She then procedeed to tell me how I should send my items in what sort of packaging and how much I should be charging. she said she would have preferred in a envelope for $1.40, yeh no way, I was sending without tracking number, go caught by that before.

She then told me the item was left in here letterbox, well on the tracking it said it was carded & at her post office for pick up.

Since then have had a barrage of emails, half of them not making sense.

Btw , left me a negative feedback saying not recommended & rips you off on postage, must admit I got angry and called her a liar.

Amyhow 2am had emails, from her saying I left neg feedback for a buyer that charged me $9 for postage, hmmm, dont know where she got that one from.

Also in capitol letters, I did not sign for it and I did not go to the post office to pick up.

So this morning I rang the post office that is on the online tracking info and the person told me this, postman tried to deliver, no one home, carded & taken to post office and then on this date at this time we have a signature and told me from who in our electronic device.

i did mention to her in a earlier email, I looked at her feedback and she let some quite petty excuses for leaving negative feedback for other sellers. Hmm she didnt like that , did she. I have a right to look at other feedback. At least I dont charge people for petrol or $10 fee if they are 5 minutes late than the arranged time for pick up.

Anyhow I emailed her back and told here I rang the post office and the info I had .

What do you think , who do I believe, her or post office.

Sorry if this is too long.

What a pity you got involved in a heated argument in feedback before checking here....there is a possibility that ebay will remove the feedback if you approach them correctly.

Do you have proof positive of what you paid for postage?   Do you still have the messages you have received from the buyer.....are they in the ebay message system so ebay can read them?

If you have the above, ring ebay and tell them that the buyer has lied in feedback and you have proof.  Prove what you paid for postage, ask them to read the messages, ask them to read the tracking....if it shows on line that the item was carded ebay will believe that and her messages will show that she is lying about that.

Ask ebay to look at her feedback.....if she leaves a lot of bad feedback for petty reasons they will take that into account.

Approach ebay calmly....don't lose your temper with them but be politely insistent that the feedback is wrong.  You may not be successful the first time but ask for a supervisor if the first rep is not helpful.

Do what Lyndal said.

You have not a thing to lose by following that & everything to gain.

It's just a shame you got into a lot of messaging with her. Your reply to her was spot on except perhaps better not to have started in with the word liar. Of course she is, but better to keep comments on a more objective footing.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes I have the receipt with postage and saying it was registered.

i looked at the tracking on line, and it said , card left and item at post office for collection.in the meantime I actually called the post office and gave them the tracking number, he told me he had a signature and the time and date of collection, I received her first email 20 minutes after the time he gave me.

i told her I have this information and haven't hard back.

So I guess she isn't telling the truth.

oh well, put it all down as a learning curve and hopefully Karma will bite her. Lol

This has been one of my biggest all time hates about the ebay system.

If postage is listed in the auction listing, and the buyer thats amount, then in NO WAY should they have any right to whinge/complain/leave a neg/give you 1 out of 5 stars for your postage costs.

They agreed to pay that amount at the point of sale. They know exactly how much they are paying. They push that pay now button. Thats them agreeing and accepting that postage amount. Complaining about it later is utterly rediculous and such a stupid, stupid thing to be do.

Sure they can complain how its packed, or the materials used. But the actual price. No.

/end rant.
