What is the best payment options?

Hello.

I am looking at the possibility of selling here. I have spent most of my time reading the site map and getting very confused in the process. One question I do have is the following:

What is the better payment option to have. Pay pal or pay mate? I do not have a merchant facility, is there other payment options to choose from?

I have signed up with Pay pal.

I came to the community a while back and tried to familiarise myself with everything and now it all looks different. I had a very hard time trying to find how to do a message so I do hope this does work.

You must offer one safe payment method but it would have to be paypal to start with as there is some sort of criteria you need to meet before using paymate.

Try google and see what you can find out there.

Bank dep is also an option as it is fee free but you still need to have paypal.

paypal is certainly the most widely used

paymate charge about the same, have less buyer/seller protection, and a LOT of buyers have never heard of them.

The majority of sellers offer Paypal. It is accepted, and generally seen (from a buyer's point of view) to be the best/safest. You can pay your fees with it automatically, too. Buyers seem to prefer it - often they are paying with funds already in Paypal, so having to use another method can put them off.

There are hurdles to jump to open a Paymate account as a seller, plus there are restrictions on buyer protection. I don't believe Paymate fees are any less than Paypal's, although you can shift some of the fee onto the buyer. Not recommended, imo.

There is so much to learn about ebay. It is quite overwhelming. I think I understand something and then I read something else and it confuses me all over again. Never mind. I shall persevere

This place was a nightmare for me when I first started selling, but all the regulars in the AC and on these boards were so helpful and I think I almost know half as much as they do now so I am getting there LOL
