What the heck???

Just got home to find that a buyer had purchased 3 of my items.

I then look at the confirmation emails and it says that the items are NOT paid for and the buyer has requested an invoice total.

My items are ALL set to Buy It Now, and this is the first time in 3 years that I have not had immediate payment.

Something weird is going on - can you please have a look at item 292781155140 and tell me if you see anything other than BIN?

Anyone else having this glitch today??

What the heck???

I've sent a message to Ebay Australia via FB messenger, so we'll see if they get back to me.

This is maddening - basically my whole shop says I'm BIN with immediate payment, but buyers can somehow now request an invoice Smiley Mad

There were 2 further sales after my initial post and now I have to run after the buyers making sure I get paid.

I guess I must be the only one having this issue as the boards are quiet in this regard 😞

UGH!

What the heck???

I don't do immediate payment because I want my buyers to purchase multiples and to be able to pay the correct postage. It saves me having to refund, in which case either myself or the buyer wears the fees on that refund. eBay keep those fees regardless.

What the heck???

Fortunately my covers are all around the same size and weight, so I've tweaked the postage to be fairly accurate.

I have some buyers who purchase over 4 covers from different listings at a time and even then the combined postage comes out ok.

Occasionally I'll have a $3-4 refund which is negligible in the scheme of things.

The beauty of it is that if an overseas buyer purchases mutliple items, the combined postage works out enough to then send with tracking. So that listing that I started the thread about would have come to $27.50 combined if the system was working ok. The actual postage with tracking comes to $24.00 + bag cost, so it would have worked out perfectly - I would have been paid immediately and I would have sent the pack off this morning.

I used to send invoices until I got tired of waiting for payments as well as chasing Unpaid Item Disputes.

The whole thing has worked brilliantly for the past few years but for some reason has gone pear shaped in the last 24 hours.

Thanks all - I swear I am totally, totally confused now.

When I make a "pretend purchase" on another browser, it does not give me the option to request a total.

However, I have now gone into my preferences and looked under "offer combined payments and postage".

The I click on "Combined payments/Edit" in the next screen.

That comes up with a window that I have screen shotted below.

Here's the confusion - my items are BIN with immediate payment required on each listing, yet this screen tell me that buyers can make payment within 3 days (minimum)???

This setting is meant to be for when immediate payment required isn't enabled and buyers can use BIN without checking out.

What it's supposed to do is automatically keep items combined for a single payment for the set number of days, so that if a buyer confirms purchase for 2+ items, a single payment can be made, but after the specified amount of time, they can only check them out individually, unless a combined invoice has been issued.

eg Mine is set to 7 days (you can switch it to various timeframes, up to 30 days from memory). I had a buyer purchase several items over about 8-9 days, without me issuing an invoice. On the 9th day, when they went to checkout, all the items purchased within the previous 7 days automatically combined, but it left out older purchases. I sent an invoice to include all items, and it was able to override the 7-day setting.

That is how it's supposed to work, or did in the past, at any rate. But with eBay, site function is getting to be a bit... creative? Smiley Surprised

What the heck???

I've just tried putting two of your items in the cart, and I do get the "request total button" which is definitely active. I hovered over it to make sure.

What the heck???

My buyers are forced into immediate payment and I don't want it that way. Even though my settings aren't ticked, it still happens and there is nothing I can do about it.
