Thanks for the link tazz - very interesting and enlightening. To be honest, I am so naive I just thought the whole thing was a complete scam, which it still is really as it is grossly misleading to the gullible and shouldn't be allowed without mention of the fact the fruit will only grow like that with the use of moulds.

That's the whole point,(it is missleading and they shouldn't be allowed).
The whole listing is missleading as there is no mention of needing the molds.
@joethenuts wrote:whats so dishonest they are selling pear seeds ,that wil look like budas ,if you read instructions and add other things later.
no different selling egg plant seeds , they wont turn into eggplants unless you kraft them and so on.
do you all think that buyers would think pear shape budas will grow like that, then would they plant bird seed , or egg plant seeds to grow birds or eggs.mmmmmmmmm if you think this is a con what about the other day here when someone was selling for a lot of money a plastic bag full of [air] from a backstage of a concert.
They are not selling plain pear seeds as the listing clearly states:
10Pcs Rare Baby Ginseng Fruit Seeds
So they are implying that's what the buyer will get and there is no mention that molds are needed.
If you look at all the other fake seeds on here you'll also see that there are thousands of gullible members that
are taking in by these type of scam listings,(as they go by the listing title).

Aww, thanks OP, I love a good fake fruit rort
Sometimes when I’m feeling low, I search the latest in rainbow roses or purple strawberries just for the laughs.
Eg, these purple cherry tomatoes made my day yesterday (Item 141276340544). Fluro fruit AND a sexy lady eating them! Can't miss!
Yes, these listings are all very dodgy, but I agree with phorum_junkie.... you’d have to be many kinds of daft to buy these and even if you did- you won’t lose much money, little harm done.

And in the description one of the points is : Deliciously sweet, bite-sized red tomatoes can be used in salads or served on toothpicks as appetizers
The problem with all these sorts of listings is that there is the possibility there could be some truth to them & that's how they suck people in. Just as an example, purple carrot seeds were (not sure if they still are) readily available here - we grew some a couple of years back as they were supposed to be good for your heart. Stupid isn't it, they tasted like normal carrots, but it felt weird eating purple carrots, no matter what, they are supposed to be orange !!

Hahaha. If you look at the picture, you can even see the lines down the sides where the two halves of the 'fruit' have been joined together.

And the in tomato one, they forgot to colour the whole cut tomato, hehehe - half red, half purple (photos in the description)

Yeah, I do agree that people get sucked in and it's playing pretty fast and loose, as it were. But of all the scams in the world, this one at least doesn't cost the gullible much of their hard-earned.
I grew purple carrots from seed too!- and yes, they taste exactly like orange carrots but apparently have different nutrients. I know if you use them in a beef stew, the whole lot turns dark purple. No photoshop req'd.
But I bought them from a reputable, local online seller (diggers club). Buyers interested in the cheap overseas listings would do well to check diggers 1st 😉

Hahaha, love it ! We only used them as a salad veggie, phew ! I would have had trouble eating purple beef stew
Years ago my kids insisted on green gravy, might have been for St Patrick's day I think and green pikelets - again, just not right !!

So it's fine for scammers to steal money from people as long as it's not much?
This one 390779752981 has sold 3612 scam listings worth over $4500

Of course it isn't right but let's face it you would have to be pretty dumb to fall for most of these seed listings, people really do have to take the trouble to activate a few brain cells before pressing the buy button. It is rather disheartening to know that 3,612 people are so gullible, extrapolate that number to the general population and it doesn't say much for the future of the human race!
