Weighing up several items and want to get a list of possibles together. I do it all the time and then pick the most appropriate product based on price, the seller, the product features and potentially other factors with items both off and on eBay. Largely most of my purchases are now off eBay as the fees are pushing up prices on here above B&M stores and other online stores. A piece of software which allows you to compare items both on eBay and B&M and online stores would be wonderment ! Any budding tecs out there?

I have many items in my watch list that I am interested in buying at some time in the future. It gives me a way to have them in one place so I can easily find them when I want to buy. Some things have been on my watch list for a year or more before I buy but I eventually do.

What the other posters said.

-I put things on watch lists to see what they sell for ie how popular.

-If i can't afford it at the time but maybe later.

-I don't need/want it yet but I don't want to have to search through 50 pages to find it again.

I like to watch.

Better people watch than buy in haste & have to be a problem with buyer remorse (SNAD) refund later.

People get busy & forget, the world isn't revolving around your item & think yourself popular to have watchers.

Oh dear, I am one of those annoying people who watch. I once had 18 pages of stuff, most of which i had no intention of buying.

I am a bit better now.

Why do I watch items?

-Maybe I have something similar at home, so i want to see what the ebay one goes for. Mind you this is not infallible. I had a garden seat that was identical-get that, identical!!-to one that sold for $57. Mine was in better condition and in a nearby suburb to a couple that had sold for those higher prices. I watched the other ads and then my sister listed ours. Ours got 14 watchers and only one bid, so sold for only $35Smiley Sad

But you get the gist-it gave us a ballpark figure on what others were getting.

-Maybe it is just something that is having bids for an amazing amount, so a friend will send a link and say-have a look at this-and I will.

-Maybe it is something I am interested in buying, but I want to see what they tend to sell for. So I watch a few.

-Maybe I might be interested in buying and by saving in my watch list I won't have to search for the ad again.

-Sometimes I have ideas for a little side business venture and save searches for things that might come in handy-things such as ribbons, stickers etc. This gives me a way to calculate approximate costs. See if my finished product could be competitive.

- Sometimes i watch just because I like something and am interested in how it sells. Last year I had 2 daughters get married and in the process I lokked at a heap of wedding dresses on ebay. My daughters had already ordered frocks from stores (there is no way they wanted to buy first, try on later, and who can blame them. Going around the bridal shops is part of the fun) but I watched dozens of frocks. I came to the conclusion that someone not young and starry eyed could actually do very well if they were prepared to buy on ebay as some local brides sell off frocks at excellent prices. But it wasn't as if I was in the market, I just liked looking at the frocks.Smiley Happy

Mind you, it did alert me to a Chinese scam. I saw a photo of my daughter's wedding frock. The exact same photo off the official website, which was ella bridal. And the chinese dress was $18.99. I can assure you that wasn't the price of the ella bridal gown in stores here. Maybe the chinese sellers make a verison that looks similar but I am sure it can't be legal to nick photos from the real website and pass them off as the article you are selling.

Sometimes i buy things though, so take heart, some of your watchers might be bidders.
