How come the prices dont change, every amount is the same.

So, they sell laptop batteries through Buy-It-Now listings and you sell batteries by Buy-It-Now listings. What's the problem? If they are hitting the Buy-It-Now from another of their accounts then they would have many final value fees to pay. They are not bidding on their own items as no bidding is taking place.

I am sorry nobody is bidding, they are multiple BIN sales. So one person bought number of them? It is unlikely be the seller, as already mentioned all what they would achieve would be to pay heaps in fees.

they are not BIDS they are SALES.... that seller is selling items.
if you look at any good seller with multiply quantities of the same item you will see how many they have SOLD

the only advantage in buying things off yourself in this Buy-It-Now format may be that it increases your ranking in search results using Best Match. Even then, I would think that buying from yourself would prove counter productive.

I've seen sellers with "purchase history" on items like this before, and yes, the purpose is to improve best match rankings - it costs the seller nothing and is just one of the ways BM can be maipulated to someone's advantage. I don't think it's right, and one of the major flaws in that being the default search option, but where there's a weakness to exploit, you'll always find sellers willing to do so, and as far as I know this sort of practice is not technically against any actual policy. ๐ X-(

But they would have to put in lots of unpaid item disputes, so that in iteself would look shonky to ebay, and if they dont put in the disptues then yes it is costing them money.

Unpaid item disputes aren't the only way to not have to pay FVF on a sale - my guess is these transactions are finalised quite quickly at no cost to the seller, no strikes issued to the buyer, and a massive sales history on the listing.
It might cost them something soon, though - surprise, eBay have come up with a potential plan to profit from the desire to improve BM rankings.

It appears a couple of the oracles have had a misfire ๐ฎ
check out those posts ..... do you see what I see ???.... and this thread, unfortunately, is not Robinson Crusoe....
http://www.eyesonbullying.org/bystander.html
Hurtful Bystanders
Some bystanders . . . instigate the bullying by prodding the bully to begin.
Other bystanders . . . encourage the bullying by laughing, cheering, or making comments that further stimulate the bully.
And other bystanders . . . join in the bullying once it has begun.
what can you do ?????
Bystanders also have the power to play a key role in preventing or stopping bullying.
Some bystanders . . . directly intervene, by discouraging the bully, defending the victim, or redirecting the situation away from bullying.
Other bystanders . . . get help, by rallying support from peers to stand up against bullying or by reporting the bullying to the appropriate authority
Bystanders who donโt intervene or donโt report the bullying often suffer negative consequences themselves. They may experience:
- Pressure to participate in the bullying
- Anxiety about speaking to anyone about the bullying
- Powerlessness to stop bullying
- Vulnerability to becoming victimized
- Fear of associating with the victim, the bully, or the bullyโs pals
- Guilt for not having defended the victim
Are you a Bystander? ( think a lurker in internet terms ie one who for the most part reads and rarely posts)
I bet 43 cents a bully will post and ask me who or what my post pertains to :O;-):-p
