Why don't buyers read the listing?

I recently sold a silk scarf, The size of 50cm x 50cm was clearly stated in the listed. The person that bought and paid for it, then started to send messages - a total of 11 messages acusing me of trying to trick her. She saw the photo and just asumed it was 1mtre square. She obviously didn't read the listing, she said i must have been listing it in a large section - whatever that means, also acusing me of trick photography. She said she had reported me to ebay and etsy.  I noticed in her feedback that it's not the first time with this carp.

I am about to contact ebay about them. I have already blocked them from all my accounts. Their name is in the feedback i left for them, feel free to check it out and also block them.

Beats me why they don't read but the minute you forget to dot an i or cross a t, you can guarantee someone will be onto you, lol

Thanks for the heads up - was off to add them to my 'special list' but the only neg I can see is not for a scarf ?

So hoping that means eBay have removed it for you Smiley Happy

Why don't buyers read the listing?

I sold a phonecard, in the listing it stated - for collectors only, expired card, no monetary value.

I got an email from the account holder asking for his money back ($1.50) as the card did not work, he stated he check with the carrier to be told it was an expired card, his daughter bought it using his account. I explained what the situation was.

A few days later he emailed back saying he was going to have a strong talk with his daughter and apologised, obviously he went away and read the description, he left a positive.

Your neutral buyer was also very interesting in a scary way-6negs 21neut & many false +.

Just goes to prove that buyers who are consistently unhappy/unlucky  don't stop buying on ebay.

Good job with the IDs in reply to fb.

Why don't buyers read the listing?

Some people don't read facts and information because Imagination Land makes the items they purchase seem so much better.....at least while it's in transit. >_>

I have three neutrals, and if the reason I had them was written there instead of the comments the buyer actually wrote, they would look like this:

"The item is exactly as pictured, I just didn't pay any attention and decided the way it's supposed to look is ugly"

"I made a mistake with my order, so here's a neut"

"I didn't look at anything in the listing except the first picture, and imagined how big they would be from that - sadly, my imagination is not accurate".

More than not reading the listing fully, which plenty of people do without leaving defects afterwards, it's that some people are not prepared to take responsibility for their lack of due diligence and inattention to the product they purchased (except maybe the second one, they were a new-ish buyer and was the only one I contacted about the neut because he had otherwise been lovely and the neut was a shock - I don't think he understood the nature of FB).

Probably got attracted to your photo and didn't bother reading descriptions. Happens quite ocassionally. I see alot of buyers/seller naming and shaming sellers on forums and I beleive it's against the rules. So why don't they read the forum rules too?

Yes, that person is an absolute disaster. Much of their POSITIVE feedback reads "poor" and "bad" etc . . .

*Runs to block list*

Why don't buyers read the listing?

If the size was clearly stated in your ad and they then ring ebay to say "But I thought it would be bigger", surely the people at ebay would just reply-hmm, pays to read the ad.Smiley Happy

I hope so, anyway.
