Why sellers have less rights than the buyers on ebay?

I had to modify one of the item I was selling as the original one wasn't available anymore and ebay removed it saying that I had violated the policies!!! Their explanation was that my feedback wasn't high enough 99.2% (!) and that my item was put under a wrong category (totally wrong as I've changed it as well!).

So my question is: why as a seller I feel not supported at all and abused by the system? I've heard and read many complaints about it and can't believe that it's still continuing...

I would say they are referring to your DSR's. Maybe they are a little low. But more often than not, it's not ebay but a competitive seller that reports your listing. Even if a listing has a small non compliant error in it, other sellers are sometimes quick to report which ebay need to act on.

Anything under 99.5% is not very good.  As you have not sold very much the one NEG has taken your FB% to only 99.2%, but the 2 neutrals both claim that that the items were not what you put in the listing, and they probably marked your stars down.  You are lucky they did not give you NEG too.

If your sterling silver rubs off, you better have a word with your supplier instead of blaming the buyer.

I'm not perfect but some buyers are just lyers! Both the neutral comments I received asked me for a refund and to keep the item! And honestly the silver didn't rub off at all!!!

I can't find any reference to the policy, but I know that other members have in the past received policy breaches for revising listings to a completely different item for sale, and in those circumstances the reason stated was circumventing fees (in other words, eBay expect you to end a listing if the item is no longer available and create a new listing for the different item).

Is it possible you missed something when revising causing something in the listing to be flagged (maybe a word in the description or title that was no longer relevant).
