Sent a package to the US last Tuesday (10th) with Pack n Track International. Hadn't sent to the US in ages and made a big rookie mistake - filled in everything but forgot to tick the 'gift' 'merchandise' or 'other' section and give it a value. I DID sign it, though.
At the counter paying for it, I did remember and asked the lady as she was filling out the official section if I needed to tick that part. She calmly says 'no.'
I took her word for it, now I'm worried this is what's holding up the parcel as I'm tracking it online. I sent another similar parcel to the US a couple of days later and it arrived yesterday while this one's still stuck at ' Received and awaiting clearance for delivery' since the 11th.
Buyer hasn't contacted me, but I'm a bit on edge that they'll return the item to Australia.

As long as the contents weren't prohibited or restricted by US Customs they shouldn't return it, though the addressee may have to pay more in the way of Customs Fees because you didn't tick that box.
If you have the number handy I'd be glad to have a look for you. I may be able to see more scans. Or you could try tracking it on the USPS website.

Looks like attemmpted delivery was made on the 19th US time. At least its there
