After asking about this several times over the last year or so suddenlyit has appeared on my listing page.
Is it just for some or does everybody now have it.
Thanks Ebay, I am a happy camper --- for now!

When I was listing the last 50 or so of my 150 free listings last weekend, I noticed that sometimes the relist feature and checkbox did not show. It remained unavailable for quite a few listings before I even noticed, and then it suddenly reappeared again. I had to go back and check quite a few of my listngs to see if (a) the checkbox was available and (b) whether it had been checked. So the magical disappearing trick has not only affected you. Such a nuisance.

Sorry Eggles,
no disappearing trick with mine, I have never had it until now.
I had asked for it before but it was never given to me on either user i.d.

People should take care with the auto relist function. it is a mixed blessing, positively dangerous for some of us. If you sell items by the metre and list 10 metres available in total for sale, the auto relist will change the total of "10 metres" to "1 metre" when it relists the item.
It means that you then need to update all your items manually to "10 metres". It's a pain but not a deal-breaker.
What is a deal-breaker is that the auto change to "1 metre" can lead you to being rapidly in breach of Ebay policy. This will happen if you have the words in your listing "sold by the metre". Ebay class this as an attempt to create additional sales off Ebay and they automatically suspend you account. Their reasoning is that you only have one metre for sale (thanks to the auto relist) but are suggesting more than one metre is available.
It sounds crazy but it's happened to me on my other account. And often it's only a matter of 5 minutes before the Bot picks it up as a policy breach and suspends your account. The first time it happened I had no idea why. I got hit with a policy breach and it took Customer Service overweek to advise the reason why. By this time, the 7 day suspension had automatically ended, and I had other listings coming up for auto relist, but I didn't have enough time to get them all switched back to manual relist. So some of them relisted with the same problem and I got hit with another longer suspension for trying to sell off Ebay.
After many more enquiries to customer service, most of which were ignored, Ebay have finally acknowledged that I did not intend to breach Ebay policy, but the fact remains it was a technical breach, and therefore my account remains suspended until the end of the month. They now agree that the relist function does work in the way I oulined above, but it was my fault for not turning off the auto relist function quick enough.
So take care with this one.

I sell multiples and when a listing auto relists the number available on the new listing is always the same as the number that was available when the old listing ended. If I have 10 and I sell 1, the original listing shows 9 available when it ends, and the new listing shows 9 available. I've got hundreds of listings with more than 1 item available and the numbers are always accurate.

It seems there must be a large degree of variability with the auto relist feature. Some people have, some don't. For some it changes the listing for others it doesn't.
One other change it makes on my listings is that it changes BIN to BIN and :make an offer". I have told EBay that there are in the auto relist software, but they refuse to acknowledge it. They're default response is always "it is meant to work that way."

The only thing eBay customer service know how to do is cut and paste messages into an email. I do kind of feel sorry for them in a way. They took on the job in the hope of earning some money to support their families, yet aren't given proper training for the job they're meant to be doing. They are taught to punch in a few keywords and then cut and paste the results. Quite sad really. I don't believe they are bad people, they just need proper training. What's really sad is, the experienced users of these forums know far more than the CS staff.
As for the free relist issue thingy, I was sniffing around in some of the help pages last night to try and find out why my fees for the month were 11.35% (instead of 9.9%) and there are a few categories where they aren't available. I think most of them are already known, but they are anything automotive related (including planes and trucks), businesses and websites, real estate, tickets, gift vouchers, services, travel, flights.
I never did work out why my fees were 11.35%, but learned a few other things along the way! I hate those help pages, really hard to find what you need.
