afterpay?

As far as I know , Australian retailers that use Afterpay , pay a percentage to them to be able to use it.

If Ebay isn't charging us  ( Sellers )  , then they must be paying them direct to use it.

I suspect a payment recoup by stealth in the case of increase fees somewhere for sellers coming up soon.

You dont get something  for nothing you know.

Besides if people all payed on time and they couldnt charge any interest they would make no money at all , so what is the point of being in business ?

Also note that the Afterpay shares crashed on the stockmarket by 40% a couple of weeks ago on fears of mass unemployment.

It will happen when eBay introduce the managed payments system, and be a part of the payment processing fees, I expect.

I really wish sellers had a choice in this - I don't offer any of these kinds of payment options on my website for a reason, and I consciously try to market my items in a way that does not encourage impulse buying, so it's really frustrating when eBay continue to introduce things like this and not give me a choice about how the business is run. I don't wanna just "get the money", I want a successful business that doesn't actively work to increase the liklihood of people regretting their purchases. Smiley Frustrated

I thought I read Sellers have to opt in for after pay - but if you do you can't opt out. Also I am unconvinced that the sellers isn't charged the fees - trying to research the topic as I think the eBay announcement says no 'extra' fees but that does not mean 'no' fees. Pretty sure eBay won't cover the usual commission paid by merchants who use afterpay
