australia post says they no longer give lodgement receipt

my post office is adamant they are no longer issuing lodgement receipts for click and send parcels.

I cant see how they can not issue a receipt if we insist we need one?

They have been treating me like a pain in the bum and giving me some printout with the tracking number etc but there is nothing really official looking about it.

I read somewhere in another thread they need to call the auspost helpline to receive instructions on how to bring up the new screen which includes a print option.

They looked at me like an idiot and ignored my suggestion.

I have persisted the last 3 days trying to explain what i read here, just hoping someone might at least try and find out for sure.

Day 4 and i finally convinced one of the staff to call and ask but it was right on 5pm so he promised to do it first thing tomorrow.

In the mean time can anyone confirm 100% if they can still issue a lodgement receipt with ebay click and send satchels?

What is the situation with paypal/ebay? the same as usual?

Surely we dont have a leg to stand on in a dispute with no lodgement proof?

The AP system changed 2 weeks ago - they have to go into different screens to print a receipt for C&S lodgements.  Obviously your PO could not be bothered learning the new system.

Have received over 15 lodgement receipts this week at 3 different AP outlets for parcels through label print  here on ebay and C&S site for other auction sites.

All you get is a receipt that has Australia Post the branch and date and time on it and says:

Article Lodgement

Flat Rate Satchel 500g (or whatever)

Article ID.

686xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If this is what they are giving you thats fine as it is all you are suppose to get.

Ebay labels give a lodgement receipt, C&S labels aren't at the moment.
C&S phone customer support said 1) that yes, we are meant to be getting lodgement receipts; 2) it is a known problem and they are working on it. But Aust Post don't acknowledge it when you talk to them. Ring C&S and report it - the more sellers that do this the better for hopefully getting a fix

I can get lodgement receipt for C&S parcel, but not the C&S 500g or 3kg satchels. This has been at 4 different post offices...

I have recently only started using the Ebay Post labels. My post office has no problems printing me a receipt of lodgement.

I have never understood why you need a lodgement receipt for click and send articles (or ebay labels).

You can save a pdf copy of the label - it shows postal address and if it is scanned on lodgement the public AP tracking system shows it was lodged.

This info is suffice for providing info to a buyer re posting and progess of freight to them and evidence to paypal of proof of post.
