I recently sold a watch on another account. It was just a cheap watch nothing fancy. I just stated what was on the watch.
The buyer has told me that it was wrong and has several complaints about it. They only paid $5 plus postage.
I told them that if they wish to return it, I will check it out and if they are correct i will give them a refund.
The watch arrived yesterday in pieces. I have not been able to get it back together.
I told them I didn't think I could refund them as I cannot get it back together and will have to pay someone to do it for me.
They are getting very angry now, but I thought an item has to be returned in original condition if someone is to get a refund.
It's not much money but should I refund or not.

Definitely not. Keep the emails so that you can appeal if a dispute is opened. Block the seller from buying from you ever again.
Write once and say you cannot refund due to ebay's policy on returns.
(Polish up your return policy in your listings to include "item must be returned in the same condiiton")

Things to keep in mind:
Return the item in the same condition as you received it.

To be honest for a $5 item I would have refunded them and just told them to keep it.
