(this message is for the experienced sellers only, if you are a buyer then this information is not for you)
Oh dear everytime ebay makes a change it is always a curse, they said it is for the better I say it is a stupid change, made by those people who do not understand sellers.
Today I saw a change in a email format received by a seller (that's the email sent to the seller as soon as the an item is sold), and all the info and link I always need no longer shows in the email and I have to click into the item's page and click deeper to find the info.
The now hidden info in the email includes buyer's ID and address/postcode, and a link to send invoice / contact buyer and probably more. Without these all other info in that email is basically rubbish, and it take much more effort to send invoice & communicate with buyers among many other things.
Worst still ebay even get the quantity field wrong, if I have 2 items for sale and one was sold, the email just says 2 (the original quantity and not the quantity sold) how could this even get passed the system test stage (or user test)???
There was nothing wrong with the previous email presentation so why ebay remove all those essential info???

I guess it's only the shop sellers who are receiving the new email format, however I can see that you also have an ebay shop so this is strange. May be the system migration is taken in phrases and not to all sellers at once. If you got the new format in the future please update the post and tell me what you think, thanks.

I don't usuallly read iten sold emails, I hardly read any ebay generated emails.
All the information and links I need are readily availabe inn SMP and the last thing I want to look at is an ebay delivery address that is generated by default before a buyer goes through checkout.

Hi I can't find the Item Sold Email option anywhere, but I never changed any setting related to how I received those emails. I have attached a sample email of what I received since this morning, note that the Buyer field is buyer's name and NOT his buyer ID. This now makes my searching based on buyer ID in Gmail impossible.
ALSO note that this buyer bought ONE item from me and see how this email says 2 in the Quantity field! I almost got caught with this. This is extremely confusing I have to check against paypal email or item page to verify the correct quantity purchased. I cannot believe this bug is not identified before it rolls out.
ebay if you are not preparing to invest in quality control than don't make useless changes and create new problems.

I checked my sold email and it starts:
Dear curraone,
![]() |
Congratulations, your item sold. Please post this item to the buyer within 1 business day(s) after your buyer pays.
![]() |
Complete one of the following:
......................
and then I can see full details about the buyer name, id, email, and address.
Perhaps you have accidently signed in to ebay com instead of the Australia site?
