end listing at higher price

I am selling an item, and the highest bidder has said that he would but it for $55 ($10 higher than what it's currently being listed) if I close the auction now and sell it to him.   I'd love to do this but is it breaking eBay's rules and can this be done as buy it now is not available.

Depending on how long the auction has to run you can cancel the bid, end the listing, let your buyer know of course, then relist as BIN for this buyer. Just be aware though if the buyer is that keen then it may pay to let the auction run as they may think it will go for a higher price than they have offered.

I think I would let the auction run - at worst you will sell it for $45

even worse scenario, you cancel the bid, list as BIN and he doesn't follow through and you have sold nothing
