I have a buyer who has purchased an item and paid for it and postage. She then asked if I had another the same. I didnt, but got it in for her. I tried to send a invoice for the item only as the original postage will cover both items.Apparently it didnt go through. I asked again tonight for her to confirm her email so I could send a invoice through Paypal. She said she wont give me her email ( bad experince) fair enough, so I need to list the item just for her. I know I can, did years ago but can not remember how to do it.

I''m not sure how to make a private listing, but as she has already paid for postage on the first item, if you send both items together, you won't be covered by seller protection, as they are considered 2 separate transactions.

Pretty sure you can't do a private listing. However when I am asked for a specific set of products I create a listing just as the customer wants, then message them the Item number so they can do an exact search to find the items.
You just have to hope that no-one else buys inbetween you listing and the buyer finding that listing. - This did happen to me once, luckily I had enough stock to cover both orders. LOL You just gotta be quick if it is a popular product!!!

The way to stop others buying the relist is to bump the price up to something ridiculous and add make an offer - you then have a level of control - just make sure the buyer is clear they need make an offer.

1. When you receive an eBay email 'Congratulations your Item Sold', that also has the buyer's personal email on there - easy enough to contact direct.
2. Why don't you just send a 'Request Money' through PayPal for the other item after you have contacted buyer via (1) above to advise this is the easiest way of dealing with the 2nd transaction.

Because that would be trading off-eBay.
Not a smart thing to advocate.

Firstly, I realize this thread is 3 weeks old. Secondly, either I was otherwise occupied or just got cranky with your response and decided not to answer. But today I would like an answer.
So can you please explain to me - if something was never listed on eBay, how it could be regarded as trading off eBay??
I have a FB page, and if buyers want to use PayPal I send them a 'Request Money' invoice - so does that mean I'm 'trading off eBay'???
As far as I am concerned, my post was a simple solution to OP being able to deal with a sale that actually had nothing to do with eBay - because it had never been listed.

Private listings/custom listings are easy enough to do. I have done them myself.
I used the same description but for the title I had it as "private listing for such and such (insert user id) or "custom listing for such and such". I also repeat this inf the description so that it is very clear it is specifically for another user.
Do an ebay search yourself for custom listing for or private listing for
You can get an idea how others set up these kinds of listings
It keeps it all above board/within ebay too

Maybe because the original transaction was done on eBay. And the communication about the second item was done on eBay.
You could be right, but I wouldn't be advocating it. Policy violations are not fun, no matter how innocently done.
