how to mark as paid when item picked up and not incur postage charges

Ive just sold an item that was marked as postage only, and the winning bidder has just emailed me to ask when she can pick up..... Even though it wasnt marked as pick up.  If I was to allow her to pick up, how do i adjust it to mark as paid so I dont get charged the postage cost FVF? Ive had a bit of a search through the site and thought id try here before attempting the ebay "live" help Smiley Sad

thanks

Do you want to allow her to pick it up?   You are not obliged to do so...you can just say pickup is not available.

If you do decide to allow it, just send a new invoice and remove the postage cost.    You only get charged the FVF on the total amount that the buyer pays.

If you haven't done it yet send an invoice (resend if you have) putting 0 in for the postage cost. Do not hit recalculate. Once the buyer has been and collected and presumably paid cash you just mark the item as paid and posted. If you don't mark it as posted you will keep getting reminders to post it.

If you haven't sent the invoice yet, and/or the buyer hasn't paid, it's a good idea to not only put $0 as the postage cost, but actually change the service from postage to pick-up (you can do this in the postage section, there's a dropdown menu and local pick-up is - from memory - the last option).

By doing that, you indicate to eBay and PayPal that the item was picked up, not posted, which can sometimes be important if the buyer uses PayPal to pay you rather than cash on pick-up.
