yay 3 sales but headache international buyer, buys 3 items and pays for 3 separately straight away via paypal........why? they weren't a newbie
why not request a combined invoice, or use the cart or email me?
anyway naturally I'd combine the post which they asked me to do.
I hear some people refund the 3 paypal payments and ask them to repay, but they can't can they?? as in not by paypal? for the same transactions and I'd get 3 dashboard strikes?
I don't want to pay the 10% on $56.90 post (along with my ebay fees on the fvf) and then almost $6 fees from paypal on my 3 purchases.............. being international I think the paypal fees are higher too
is there any easy solution here, to keep the buyer happy? and me not paying much more fees than in a combined purchase?
I've offered to throw in a few extras of the same they purchased to keep them happy (no dice), and I don't want to spend hours on the phone talking to an ebay rep and getting nowhere fast................. thanks all

This happens to me frequently. In some cases it's not the buyer's fault - overseas buyers often contact me to say the "buy it now" button forced them to pay immediately, or the cart didn't combine the postage, or even that when they check out ebay gives them a big red message saying I don't ship to their country even when I do. These problems appear to be random. Anyway, what I do is refund the extra postage less the 30c fee that Paypal charges for each additional transaction; or if I'm feeling generous (i.e. big order) I refund all additional postage on each item.
I was making some purchases last night of a local seller and when I clicked the BIN button on the first purchase ebay were forcing me to go through checkout immediately with a message saying that until I went through checkout another buyer could still purchase the item. Instant payment was not required by the seller and it was the first time I had seen this - I gather it is the new checkout process as there was a optional survey to complete about the new checkout process.

Combining and refunding part of the payment leaves you vulnerable on two of the items as you only have one tracking number. I clearly state on my listings that a discount is only given if paid for on a single invoice so if they do pay individually I send individually. You are paying more of a fee on the three separate postage amounts but the buyer is paying a lot more so it won't make a lot of difference to you to send individually.
