postage cost saving now that Australia Post have put prices up?

Hi folks

I am aware that the cost of letters has gone up but as I don't send many ordinary or large letters I did not think

to invest in prepaid envelopes before the increase.

It has also been a few months since I have sold items on ebay so am after some advice on saving postage costs now.

Are ebay labels/flat rate still best value, have those prices increased in recent times?

I remember someone did a handy 'comparison chart' of services/costs (ebay labels versus CS  etc) and wonder if there is an update anywhere (anything to save me trawling through AP site pretty please)

Thanks in advance!

I found this link without too much pain:

Are ebay still taking a cut of the postage costs?

Yes, they do.

eBay postage is still the cheapest (just) for under 500g, but you will need to buy the satchels. A 20-pack will cost $3.

Up to 1kg, if they fit your items, the B1 boxes are the best value. $7.15 postage + $1.75 per box (from AP)in singles.

3kg satchels through eBay are $11.70 plus 21-35c per satchel.

I don't believe C&S is particularly cheaper than the standard AP services. You just get to pay online and get a Paypal compliant label. Depending on how you lodge them. But the same goes for eBay stuff.

Thanks Dave, yes I already have some of the 500g and 3kg ebay satchels....plus some Bx4 boxes so will focus on ebay flat rate/labels for the moment.
