Is there a way to offer postage discounts in a multi variation listing. Basically I do not want to give a discount for seperate listings just within the listing for each variation.
I have it set to $1.95 flat rate + $1.00 for each extra one and no free post for any other listing but it treats each variation as a different listing and charges $1.95 for each variation however if someone purchases 2 of the same variation it just adds the extra $1.00

Sorry that took a little while (had to run up to the shops) - I added two of that item to my cart and postage was calculating at $2.95 (two different colours, so the discount was working across variations).
I had a look at some other listings and in the P&P tab it had a different postage rule in place (free postage on additional items), so the discount for the foils won't apply to the other items, and vice versa.
Basically, when it says [postage discount rule] for each additional eligible item in the payment tab, eligible means only other items that have the same discount rule in place. So if I added a few items to my cart, the postage would calculate like this:
1st foil - $1.95
2nd foil + $1.00
3rd completely different item (with free post rule on additional items) + $1.95
4th completely different item (with free post rule in place) + $0.00
Total postage calculated in cart = $4.90
Hope that makes sense. o_o

Thanks heaps. Do you work for ebay or something lol . Yep that seems to be OK. I just wanted it seperate to everyting else as they are a different packaging, and I was basically charging people too much. As I had it before if they changed the colour for an extra one it was more than buying 2 of the same colour (yet the same size package). I was getting emails from customers about combined postage so hopefully it will be better understood. Thanks for your help....It is still a little high at $1.00 extra, but when in rome.

Yes.
In the sense that I work and they profit, but there's sometimes a bit left over for me at the end of the week.
Glad I could help. 🙂

If it doesn't seem to be working right at some point, I'll see if I can troubleshoot, but just from what I can see in the listings, it should be ok. (Probably won't stop all postage inquiries - I still get them on items where people have purchased multiples of exactly the same item and postage shows to them on the purchase history, pay now, checkout etc, at the automatically discounted rate).

in reality we all work fo ebay I guess (what a monstrosity it has become). There are definately glitches with some of my listings, I put it down to all the changes ebay make all the time, they seem to correct (sometimes). I think I need to reset everything,

You really don't think ebay staff would be able to understand it this well, do you?
