Pleased be Warned:

Ebay has offered us sellers a "list an item for 3 times for free" if it doesnt sell.

1. This box is usually pre-selected by Ebay when you are constructing a listing.

2.Not a bad idea since the item will be only counted as one listing towards your 40 for the month.

3. Gives you 21 days on a 7 day item or 30 days on a 10 day item to sell etc.

NOW FOR THE WARNING:

Ebay have also offered under random catogories say for instance "SUBTITLES FREE save $2.00".

1. Not a bad idea, since you can add more detail to your items title.

BUT....

If you have this item selected for the 3 times listing and you have the opportunity to add free subtitles, be WARNED that the so called free subtitles DO NOT LAST THE ENTIRE 3 TIMES. So in other words, in your listing you have selected AUTOMATIC relist 3 TIMES AND ADDED FREE SUBTITLES....

LOOK OUT  !THE SECOND TIME around YOU WILL BE CHARGED $2.00  automatically FOR THAT LISTING because Ebay only had this SUBTITLES FREE available for a short time.

I hope I have made sense here, I learnt the hard way thinking any of the listing specials would last for the duration choosen. I spent many hours going through my listings deleting all subtitles before I was charged $2 again on each and every item.

mmmm a little trickery I think

How so? I haven't looked at the offer for a while as I am not selling at the moment but ebay made it very clear that any extras were charged for even if they were free with the fisrt listing.

This is an old trick that has been used many times by Ebay.

They prey on the belief by many people that Ebay are fair and honest dealers who always tell the truth.

I was cautious when the three free listings were first offered and that part seems to be free of tricks as the first one I relisted actually stopped after three rounds.

Had they not charged the fees for the extras then they would indeed have been unfair and dishonest. They did exactly as they said they would and any seller who did not read the terms properly can hardly blame ebay.

Sorry PJ but I don't mean to go against all your posts but they might say it, but don't you find it a little deceptive?

Big letters for free relists with a little star to some small print about what you are saying.
