Whenever I print an Australia Post label, it always comes up as "posted", as soon as printed. I have just purchased an item from an Australian Seller, and it says "a tracking number was provided" they are using Australia Post.
Obviously, there is some difference somewhere in what the seller has done.
Can anyone explain this to me?

When using eBay postage labels - as soon as you 'Create Label' it's marked as posted and the Tracking Number is automatically uploaded - whether it's 2am or 8pm.
When a Seller goes to the post office and buys or uses the Pre Paid Satchel then they will have to manually upload the Tracking Number given to them by the Post Office.

Manually writing labels is always fraught with possible problems. 1. You many incorrectly copy the address, 2 you may copy the address correctly, but the buyer claims he didn't receive it, and that you probably sent it to the wrong address. 3 The inconvenience of having to upload the tracking, mistakes can be made easily here. Unless you are one of those who never makes mistakes (0% of the population) then you should be fine. I had someone send me the wrong tracking number, and I was very distressed when it came up as being delived when I was at home and never got it. Mistake eventually discovered, but no apology from the seller. This is why, I always print postage labels as there can never be any dispute over the accuracy of the address or tracking number.
My question was how can a seller get the parcel marked as "tracking number created" ? If printing a label, it always comes up with "sent" immediately.

Printing a label or posting at the post office, same result...it is marked as "posted" which I already know, so I do not understand your answer.
