You will have to do a refund & will get a defect for selling an item not in stock.

If you are selling the same items elsewhere then you put yourself at risk of this happening.

Check your Seller Dashboard & the report to see how many defects you have.I think it is 2% puts you down to above standard.5% (i think) will have your selling account suspended.

Thanks. if it goes to 2% and you get suspended, how long will you be suspended for?

Sorry I have never had this problem and I like selling and don't want to be put of ebay for a simple mistake

Why didn't the listing come off ebay if you only had 2 items listed, once they sold then there shouldn't have been anymore listings so there had to of been a glich so you need to contact ebay and explain to them what has happened and they should then make everything sweet again.

No the 2% you lose TRS but still sell.

The 5% is suspended from selling & an email from eBay saying selling account suspended but you can still buy.You don't get the selling account back though.

It's different for everyone - as it is based on your number of sales over different periods.     You are in no danger I reckon - I have 4 defects and it is only 0.61% and I am only a small seller, the bigger the seller the better.

and particularly:   What happens if you don't meet the minimum performance standards?

If you don't meet these minimum performance standards, we may put limits on your selling activity until your performance improves:

  • Your items may be placed lower in search results.

  • We may limit the number of items you can sell, or restrict you from selling outside Australia.

  • You may be restricted from buying or selling with other accounts, or registering a new account.

  • PayPal funds from your sales may be pending in PayPal for up to 21 days.

  • We may downgrade your Store to the Basic level if you've been Below Standard for more than 60 days.

To help improve your seller standing, read our tips in the Seller Centre on optimising your listings and providing great customer service.

Did you have these items ticked to auto-relist? I discovered after the same thing happened to me that when the autorelist occurs, it reverts back to the original (or previois) listing.

I had two of the same items. I sold one, but after the first sale, it auto-reisted and the listing said I still had two (unfortunately I didn't notice this). And two more people bought them, but of course I only had one still left to sell. I had to explain this to the second buyer after finding out how this could possibly have happened. Got my first ever neutral as a result.
