refunds

I recently sold soemone 2 pairs of shoe. They wanted to return them as they said they didnt fit.  when i asked what the problem was she said the back strap didnt fit, which is strange as they are extra long.  They are beaded sandals and i posted them in a padded bag to prevent any damage.   She has sent them back in a plastic parcel post bad and the one shoe is badly damaged.  there are 2 holes on the bag where the beads have abviously rubber thru the packaging and are badly scratched.  Im not sure what to do as firstly they are a standard size 7 so the "fit" should be fine, and now one pair is damaged, and I wont be able to resell them.

Not sure what to do in this case.

refunds

I think this might come down to if you are trading on eBay for money or feedback.

If you say, sorry, I can't refund in full because the items were not returned to me in the same condition as I sent them, you may be risking a negative.

If bad feedback is left, you can leave a follow up comment saying no refund given as items were returned damaged.?

Best of luck with this one, it seems tricky.

If the other pair of shoes are ok, I think you should refund for those as you have now accepted a change of mind return. But let the buyer know that as the other pair are damaged, that you will not be refunding their cost and when she forwards you postage you will be happy to return them to her as she may be able to sell them herself oin eBay if they are not suitable for her.
