I sent my item by registered mail to the buyers po box. 3 weeks after i sent it, i was contacted by the buyer saying they haven't received it as yet. So i checked ausposts website for the tracking history. Day after i sent it it was awaiting collection at their post office, then 2 weeks later it said undeliverable return to sender.
Its now another 2 weeks and i haven't received it back. I have contacted Auspost twice now and registered a formal inquiry. So all the wheels are in motion on that side..
However, I'm really worried that its lost in the mail. Will i have to refunded the buyer ? What about all the selling costs, and paypal expenses? Not to sound harsh here, but who doesn't pick up something up from their own PO box? Anyhow, at what point is it not my problem anymore?
Oh, and If it ever gets returned and then I resend and the same thing happens, then is it the buyers responsibility to chase this up? Im sick of doing all the work. The buyer has also refused to allow me to deliver or to meet to ensure safe delivery since we live in the same city. Any comments would be appreciated.

If they paid with paypal you are protected as you sent registered post.
If they open a dispute enter all the info you have here re the AP tracking site and you will not have to refund.

I would resend (ask buyer first), you should be covered by AP if the original has gone missing. Saves all the dispute process of paypal and keeps the buyer happy.
If the buyer wants a refund do it and claim the missing parcel through AP. If it turns up you would most likely be out of pocket for the ebay fees.
I think you are covered twice as well with AP and paypal.
Most people I think would not want to meet.
