selling internationally

I hsvent really sold much for the last year so i'm a bit rusty on the new rules for selling. One of the ones that's stumping me is selling overseas. Everytime I tried to add international as a selling option it says I need to accept some new terms so that i can start listing o/s which would be fine if I could work out where these terms are or how to do that. Hopefully someone cant point me in the right direction , thanks ๐Ÿ™‚

It basically means that you need to accept the terms and conditions of the international sites your buyers may purchase from - more specifically, you have to comply with the terms of eBay buyer protection that is available on the US and UK sites (not sure if it's available on other sites, but it is a bit different to PayPal buyer protection, as it requires proof of delivery in the event of an Item Not Received claim).

You can read up on eBay's buyer protection here: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/buyer-protection.html

Since eBay site policies differ by country, in future eBay may require sellers to agree to an international selling agreement before allowing them to sell internationally. This agreement will be surfaced to applicable sellers when they first attempt to list on an eBay site other than eBay.com.au or when they choose to offer international postage options on an eBay.com.au listing. Once the agreement has been accepted, those sellers will not need to do so again.

The agreement should come up for you to accept when you try one of the above.

There was an eBay announcement about this at the end of January last year.  On your My eBay page there is a link to announcements over on the left hand side.  You can click on see all eBay announcememnts and just go back through to Jan 31st 2012.  That will get you to the link that announces the change.

The ability to sell internationally is an important benefit of selling on eBay. Not only can sellers offer an item for sale to Australian buyers, but they can also offer it to millions of buyers worldwide. This can be achieved either by selecting an international postage option when listing on eBay.com.au, or by listing directly on another eBay site.

I made some of it bold .  It reads to me that you would be presented with the agreement when you first try to offer international postage options.

I don't.

I don't sell internationally.  I have had requests to post overseas for the film cameras I list on another ID, but I can't be bothered with all the hassles of international posting.  I have been known to post to Tasmania though   :^O
