should I give out the IMEI number of a phone i am selling

Someone has requested the IMEI number of the pnone I am sellind ,is there any risk in doing that?

No risk, they will just want to check that it hasn't been reported as lost/stolen and 'bricked' (meaning that you can't make or receive calls on it).
