someone selling one of my custom made dolls as their own and as NEW

i have a previous buyer selling one of my reborns that was purchased from me back in march this year. she has listed it as a NEW item and date of birth as december 2012 and though she has not claimed to have made it she has presented it in such a way on a template so that it appears she is the artist. i have sent her an email telling her that her listing is fraudulent and that i would report her if she did not remove it or adjust her listing. i intend to do this tomorrow if i do not see any changes or response from her but wanted to know ...does ebay block them if they see that they have posted a dishonest listing. am thinking of naming and shaming her by posting her item number and ebay id here as well as a warning to others?? she paid $350 for her, has had her for 9 months. listed her as new and is asking for $525 on buy it now +$35 postage for a used item. maybe i should be flattered??? lol anyone else had this happen?

My first time in this forum for ages.

Some of the responses Westernstarr got denigrating her dolls instead of addressing the issue she was asking advice about were just absolutely appalling.

Made me remember why I learned to figure out my own problems instead of asking for advice here.

Totally agree icyfroth, Thankyou.

And while I'm here may I just say that nobody has ANY right to judge how people should or should not handle their grief after losing a child, especially if their method of coping doesn't harm anybody else, be it unconventional a method or not.

Shame on those who turned this post into a critique on these dolls, their artistic merit and those who may buy them rather than a logical approach to the OP's question.

The question was answered repeatedly, the OP just refused to accept that the person who had re-listed one of the OP's dolls, had done nothing wrong that they could be reported for.. That's the problem

Near as I can tell, the OP didn't reject or ignore any advice, such as it was...

There was no contention over the practical advice, no "but I have to be able to report them for something..." and so on, what actually happened was that along with said advice, posters added in their personal opinions about the dolls themselves, or took issue with the seller actually taking issue with the re-seller in the first place, thus causing the thread to become a debate on the artistic and psychological merit of the dolls - and of course, the OP felt a need to be defensive about at least one of those issues.

I don't care if anyone finds the dolls creepy (I personally do, but who cares), I'm not a psychologist, I don't understand why a grieving mother would want a lifeless yet life-like doll, but my philosophy is that if I can't understand it, then I am the least qualified to judge it.

The real issue here is that if the re-seller had any integrity at all, they would honour the original artist / crafter / whatever you want to call it. And no, there's nothing eBay can do about the integrity of that listing, but if everyone's happy to pass judgement on the doll / art etc, I feel happy to pass judgement on the practice of selling art / craft without giving credit where credit is due.

No, I am not Westernstarr, just another member who is rather unimpressed at the criticisms on this post.

Even if the question to the OP was answered repeatedly it still doesn't excuse the sort of responses that have been seen here.

FGS did everyone here expect the OP to thank posters for all the "those dolls are creepy" comments? Seriously?

That isn't even remotely constructive criticism. Perhaps not even technically criticism, but most of the posts here were "I don't like those dolls, you can't call it art, anyone that uses it during the grieving process is disturbed, and seriously why are you even having an issue with someone who is not crediting you for your work.."

And I'm the one who's kidding?

Pfft.
