variation listing is good?

Maybe it's just me...

I found variation listing very difficult to control and very inflexible.

Everything has to be set correctly and completely at beginning, after that it won't allow you modify much.

For example, I have some dresses in the same design, from size 10-14, so I put size 10,12 and 14 in variation.

Some time later I got more in size 16, now problem comes, I cannot add size 16 in the current listing... will have to start a new listing??

What if there are more in different colours coming? How can I foresee all the future possibilities at very beginning?

It won't even allow me to revise one of the custom labels that made a typo in.

This doesn't make sense.

Did I missing something or it's just the way it is?

As far as I know, you can add variations at a later date - I have done it myself, only in the jewellery category, I haven't had to test it in the clothing category but I presume it works the same. Sometimes I use the variation format for a single item because I know I'll be adding variations at a later date.

All you need to do is revise the listing, then Add/Edit variations. Once you create a new variation, you need to add it so that it comes up when you go to upload photos and input the price.

The labels are like titles, because they're searchable keywords, so they can not be edited once one has sold.

I have added and removed sizes, colours and other options from variant listings once things have sold by clicking add/edit variations in the clothing category without any problems.
