I placed a claim into ebay for a refund for ebay and pay pal fees on a item I sold to a customer, after he placed a claim for the item being not as described. The item was returned and we sent him a full refund including postage.
When I placed the claim through ebay he rejected our claim. I can't see what he has to do with it now after his full amount was sent back to him through Paypal. Not only do I lose freight cost to him but to go with that he gives us a negative and has now rejected our claim to get our Ebay fees back.
I find this to be very unfair, there was nothing wrong with the product the customer has little knowledge in terms of how to use the item. Adding fuel to the fire it seems like the item was used then returned to us for full a refund. It's to easy for buyers to defraud sellers, it seems all one way in terms of fairness, the item in question is ebay number 83190004090091.
I have already had his comments from the feedback he left us removed, someone was supposed to get back to me today regarding moving the feedback rating all together but nothing has happened.
Kind regards
Len

Call ebay and they can see the messages between you and that you have refunded in full and they should do a fee credit for you.
Did the buyer open a dispute via paypal to get their refund?
If yes and the item was not returned in the condition it was sent then you should have called paypal and told them this and what is was like on return and used etc and they might have not refunded the buyer or refunded the buyer fromtheir own money not yours.
If they returned without going through the dispute process then you should not refund till you have the item returned in the condition it was sent.
If as you say it has been used then you should not have refunded them.

Being metal letter and number stamps which you place up against a hard object (steel) and hit the end with a hammer to make a letter or number appear....how is the buyer supposed to know if they work if they dont use a hammer to hit the end of each and every one of them? Of course they would appear as used, as thats the only way to check them.

How can manual letter punches not work, though? I use them myself, and if they have the letter - or whatever design - on the end like they're supposed to, the only way that they can not work is if they are used incorrectly.
With the exception of those automatic ones.

they work just fine I am a Toolmaker by trade been in the trade for over 40 years , this chap has used ebay a levage to get something for nothing , the difference between 1mm and 1/32" is just .008" this size will vary on the weight of the hammer , in my time selling on ebay over 10 years this is the most feable excuss I have ever heard.
I gave him a full refund thru pay pal which I offered him from the start , he using Pay pal as a claim expects us to repay his return freight then we get a negitive , say what ever you like WEATHER YOUR A EBAY UNDERCOVER SCROOGE OR NOT this is Bull
, I had a 3 page letter from a ebay rep which could have been condenced to 2 works SORRY BADLUCK
but please keep on making us money you are one of our best sellers and do understand work it out with the buyer
THANKS A LOT NOT WORK THE STRESS THEY CREATE
