Simply - because eBay thinks its more important to get fees out of postage and con buyers than be a reputable business. Does that answer your question?

 

Clealry ads should say postage included but eBay doesnt like that so it wrongly promotes free postage.

and there are some sellers who are trying to list their items as "pick up only"  but apparently if they don't choose the proper option - which is quite fiddly - the item will show are "free postage" until you click on it and then shows "pick up only".      Not the seller's fault, really.

As curraone suggests, there is a problem with listing pick up items from iphones and ipads.

They appear in searches as free. We have reported it to both ebay and Apple.
