why would a seller retract all the bids?

I found an item, bid high on it..... was out bid.. ok.

but have the price had doubled the seller retracted all the bids..... why would someone do that?

There are several reasons that a seller may do that but only the seller would be able to answer correctly,anything anyone here says would be just a guess ie item no longer available,seller wanted more money,item broken etc etc.
