I recently accidentally bid for a part thinking it was a whole item and instantly sent apologies to the seller straight after the bid went through. Now the seller requires me to proceed with the steps below to finish the cancellation and directs me to go log into my account -- My eBay Account --" Resolution Center" --Case require your action - Click Response to finish the cancellation request. I can't seem to locate this anywhere.
Any advice would be great.
Before the above message came in, Ebay sent me an email to say that the cancellation has been done and there's nothing more I can do.
🤔
Try looking on your "purchase history" then scroll down the page and I think you'll see it under one of the sub-sections there, if there's still action to be taken.

I am not sure this is the right way to cancel for buyers though. The seller, being a seller, cancels from there, but I think it is different for buyers.
I have never cancelled anything, so I am not sure. The only cancellations attributed to me were fake when sellers said "I" had cancelled to give me a refund, which seems to be a common tactic these days.
Usually you can cancel yourself from your purchase history within an hour I think, and after that you have to contact the seller, which you did.
Maybe you can contact eBay via live chat (from the help page)?
