I am having trouble with Standard Description writing...once I get halfway down the space suddenly I can't highlight, copy & paste, etc.

As well as those mentioned above I can delete only by backspacing and the cursor jumps around. I have three PC's here  and all do exactly the same. Two are Internet Explorer and the other Firefox. The only thing they have in common is that they all run Windows 7. I tried a friend's PC which runs Windows XP...no problem at all there. Telstra have thoroughly checked my connections and modem, no problem there either.

Has anyone had similar problems or ideas as to why this happens?

What you describe sounds more like a bug but would not effect all of your computers, I did experience similar some time ago on one PC and it was a virus,   we always say clear cache and cookies before anything else, is amazes me how doing so will rectify odd problems,  if this was only occurring today I would say it is due to being Friday, maintenence day and all sorts of weird things happen,   otherwise I am sorry, no ideas, hopefully one of the more technically informed members will be able to offer advice.
