I placed a bid on an item.  I was the only bidder.  I watched the time expire to the end.  I receive an email from ebay (almost instantly) indicating that I had been outbid by $5.00.

How is this possible if I was the sole bidder?

Is there a secret way of bibbing that does not show up on the count down site?

I am aware there is the max bid facility but I was the only bidder!

Question - How quickly does the up load and indicate bidders?

I have lost faith with ebay!!!!!

Issues are 2 different times -AEDST and AEST with AEST showing a 18:00 close and AEDST showing a 19:00:48 The Brisbane AEST was stuck on my winning (that is what ebay screen showed) However, there were many bids before 18:00 which did not show on my screen. It would seem that I had no way of seeing additional bids. So sad - too bad. Pity I cannot determine why my screen was froaen up to the closing time but the winning bid happened after the closing time by 48 seconds. How does that work and how can I updare the ebay page to show the real time and thise bids happening up to the closing time?

Some people use a sniping service and it bids in the last few seconds.

Depending on your internet speed, if a bid is placed in the last 2-3 seconds you may not see it reset on your page until after the auction is finished. But you wouldn't have had time to bid in 2 seconds anyway.
